Following recent government reports that household debt has fallen relative to income for the first time since 2008, MindMetre says its latest data shows changing consumer sentiment towards current personal debt levels now that the recovery is in progress.

The research analysed the views of 2,000 UK residents distributed evenly by age, region and gender and found the majority (59%) confirmed they had good reason to feel less worried about debt.

Compared to last year, Brits said their levels of debt had fallen. However, the survey showed UK consumers are planning to reduce their personal debt even further.
